Since the middle of the 19th century, Pomaire, Chile has been producing distinctive earthenware that is both functional and decorative. Pomaireware is tough as nails, distributes heat evenly and maintains the moisture of the food. All Pomaireware items are lead free, oven safe up to 450 degrees, stovetop safe (use a heat diffuser with electric stoves)and microwavable.

No glaze or varnish is used, the only ingredient is lead free clay. It takes around 8 hours in the oven to create the dry, hard finish. This is a hand made item, so no two are exactly alike, and each one has it's own blemishes and shades of color.
